Our own health struggles lead us to adopt a healthy plant-based diet back in 2010, before it was trendy ?. Shortly after which, we became gluten-free too. From there, our passion to help people transform their own health guided us towards becoming Nutritionists.

We are Certified Holistic Nutritionists and are trained in both Holistic and Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Management.

Holistic Nutrition and Lifestyle Management takes the whole person into consideration, body, soul, and spirit. We focus on a natural approach to diet and lifestyle to optimize overall wellbeing. No one diet fits all and we help each individual to discover what works best for their own body. Although we ourselves believe a wholesome plant-based diet to be one of the best approaches to optimal health, we don’t judge others for their food choices.

Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Management considers the whole persons physiology and aims to identify the root cause of signs and symptoms of illness. This involves taking a deep dive into the clients medical/life history, and above all else, regularly asking the question “why?”. When we ask the question “why?” we are often able to uncover underlying causes that may have lead to the decline in health and energy. Once the root causes are identified, they can be worked on to enable healing.

THE RECIPES

All 30 of our recipes have been designed to fight fatigue and maximize your energy.

Every recipe is whole food, plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, peanut-free, and low in salt, processed oils, soy, and sugar.

Includes nutritional information for calories and macronutrients (protein, carbs, and fat).

Most recipes are easy to make and require little time in the kitchen.

Many of the meals are great for on the go, for work and school.

All of our recipes are in imperial measurements (cups and teaspoons). If you need to convert any measurements you may find this Food Network Guide helpful.

If you are on any medications we strongly advise talking to your doctor before making any major changes to your diet.

Fiber is great for our gut and overall health. However, if you are not used to a high fiber diet we recommend that you introduce these recipes slowly into your weekly meal plan. This way, you can monitor your reaction and adjust accordingly. Those on a high fiber diet (once acclimated) have better health and immune function as fiber feeds our beneficial gut bacteria and aid in bowel motility.

These recipes are high in fiber which can cause digestive issues in some people who are not used to a high fiber diet. See recommendations in the previous question. Another reason you may feel bloated is if you are not chewing your food sufficiently. Fiberous foods need to be broken down well through proper chewing, as digestion starts in the mouth.

Also, we should always try to eat our meals in a relaxed state, as stress slows down and can even stop the digestive process, which can cause digestive upset and bloating.
