This delectable Red Velvet Smoothie Bowl boasts 17 grams of protein per serving, without the use of any protein powder! In addition, this yummy breakfast contains a healthy dose of fiber and antioxidants.

 ½ cup unsweetened plain oat milkwe use oat milk which has 2g protein per 1/2 cup
 ½ frozen banana
 ½ cup frozen strawberries
 1 small beet, steamed & frozen1 small beet = about 1/2 cup
 ¼ cup black beans
 1 ½ tbsp cocoa powder
 1 tbsp sunflower seed butter
 1 tbsp hemp seeds
 1 tbsp ground flaxseed

Add all of the smoothie bowl ingredients into a high-speed blender, and blend until smooth (you may need to add extra liquid if it won’t blend).

Pour the smoothie into a bowl, and add toppings of your choice.

Optional toppings can include extra berries, pomegranate seeds, puffed quinoa, granola, chopped nuts, seeds, etc.

If you'd rather drink this as a smoothie, just add extra liquid when blending until it reaches your desired consistency.

About 2g of the protein in this smoothie bowl comes from the oat milk. Bear this in mind if you choose to use a different plant-based milk.
