There are many benefits of using Himalayan salt on your skin. It can help balance your skins PH, has antiseptic properties, exfoliates, and is detoxifying.

Olive oil is also wonderful for your skin. Not only does it contain antioxidants, but olive oil is rich in phenols that have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.1

Together, salt and olive oil work together detoxify and exfoliate the skin, as well as promote circulation in your skin.

Why You Might want to Add Vitamin E to Your Scrub

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, and has anti-inflammatory properties. As such, it may be able to help improve the appearance of skin.

When applied to skin, it can reduce signs of aging, by improving the appearance of facial wrinkles, skin elasticity, and skin tone.2

Additionally, Vitamin E oil can act as a moisturizer for the skin.

When to use a Facial Scrub

As I mentioned above, salt scrubs can help remove dead skin cells, dirt, makeup, and bacteria from your skin. They can also help soften skin and improve your complexation.

I typically use a salt scrub 2 times per week, especially after I have worn makeup. I find that using a salt scrub after removing my makeup helps get rid of any that I may have failed to remove, and it clears my pores.

To use it, I simply massage the scrub on my face in circular motions for a minute or two and rinse off with some warm water. After using the scrub, my skin always feels moisturized, clean, and smooth.

Please note that if you have sensitive skin, salt scrubs may not be the best option for you as they can be abrasive.
